Britannia
The Britannia range was one of the most popular ranges of pressed glass from Chance. The range of shapes and sizes was very wide and the rarer designs are well worth collecting. Reverting to more traditional patterns, Britannia was an immediate hit with the buying public.
This is assumed to be a later version of the jug. Taken from the 1pt. tankard mould, the lip was then created by hand, thereby saving a separate mould for the jug.
Britannia jam pot, over-sprayed in pink. Lid features a recess for a spoon.
Shown in Chance Expressions as an advert (p22 CE; p25 CA), it has taken nearly 10 years before an actual example surfaced.
